In an explosive match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a margin of six wickets, capping an incredible victory.
After the thrilling game, Jaydev Unadkat, a pacer for SRH, discussed their strategies and emphasized the value of unpredictable bowling methods. Jaydev Unadkat, who was crucial in limiting CSK’s batting order, emphasized the significance of adapting to the pitch conditions.
“Based on what we have observed thus far, it appears that both wickets were where the slow balls were digging into the pitch and it’s about adjusting to the circumstances. As a bowler, you have to be unexpected with your lines and pace; therefore, I think the conditions were right for those kinds of deliveries,” he remarked following the game.
After winning the toss, SRH chose to bowl first. Though CSK got off to a great start, they were only able to reach a par total of 165/5 in the allocated 20 overs due to a few crucial dismissals.
In retaliation, SRH set the tone early on with an explosive pairing between Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma as they began their chase. A composed half-century from Aiden Markram cemented SRH’s position and ultimately led them to a decisive win.
Abhishek Sharma, my father, Brian Lara, and Yuvi Paaji deserve special recognition for this.
Abhishek Sharma was named “Player of the Match” for his spectacular innings, which highlighted his crucial contribution to SRH’s victory. Abhishek acknowledged Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh in particular for his success after the game.

As bowlers, we sensed that the pitch was a little slow. We were aware that once we activated the powerplay, we could proceed as usual. Before this IPL, we had plenty of time to get ready. Although I followed the crowd today, big scores (individual scores) definitely matter. “My dad, Brian Lara, and Yuvi Paaji deserve special recognition for this,” Abhishek Sharma remarked.
After two victories and two losses in four games, SRH’s triumph moved them up to the fifth spot in the IPL 2024 standings. CSK, meanwhile, holds onto third place thanks to a better run rate.
