Andries Gous’ tenure at the wicket was ended by a brilliant moment by Tom Kohler-Cadmore during Match 5 of the current Pakistan Super League between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday, April 14. It was a genuine instance of incredible mental clarity. Gous attempted a third run off a misfield but was run out.
Sahibzada Farhan promptly started for a couple of runs when he tickled a short-of-a-length delivery off the bat down the leg side. The wicketkeeper followed the fielder at short fine leg as he chased the ball. The fielder tried to give the keeper a relay throw, but his throw was not precise enough. The hitters began their third run as a result of this.
At the 30-yard circle, Saim Ayub, who was standing close to the stumps, ran in the direction of the short fine leg’s initial position, picked up the ball, and made the throw. There was poor directionality in the toss.
However, Tom Kohler-Cadmore managed to parry the ball off the striker’s left hand to the stumps while backing up at his end.
Gous was caught just short of the crease because he did not make the dive.
He ran for the second, but the Zalmi fielders were quicker.

Islamabad chose to bat first after winning the toss earlier in the evening. They were coming off a victory in their PSL 2025 opener against Lahore Qalandars by eight wickets. Jason Holder’s incredible four-wicket haul in the game’s opening innings earned him the Player of the Match title. With 14 deliveries remaining, Colin Munro and Salman Ali Agha completed the run-chase.
