At Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad for Match 6 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 versus the Netherlands, New Zealand’s hitters were in full swing. The Kiwis scored a staggering 322/7 in their allotted 50 overs after being given the opportunity to bat first by Netherlands captain Scott Edwards, with half centuries coming from Will Young (70 off 80), Rachin Ravindra (51 off 51), and Tom Latham (53 off 46).
Vikramjit Singh (12 off 20), Max Odowd (16 off 31), and Bas de Leede (18 off 25) were all returned to the pavilion as Netherlands’ reply, and they were reduced to 67/3 after 16.4 overs. Trent Boult made an outstanding catch to get rid of Dutch batsman De Leede at long-off, which was crucial in the dismissal of De Leede.
The left-arm seamer first leaped to the top of his frame to collect the ball, then immediately threw it away whenever his momentum was about to push him over the line.
Trent Boult made a fantastic grab by emerging from the boundary to catch the ball while it was still in the air.

Only Colin Ackerman from the Netherlands shown some resiliency after De Leede was out, scoring 69 (73), hitting five fours throughout his innings. Sybrand Engelbrecht (29 off 34) and captain Scott Edwards (30 off 27) provided useful knocks later in the order, but it wasn’t enough to help their team win.
With Mitchell Santner taking 5/59 in ten overs and Boult recording 0/34 in eight overs, the Netherlands were bowled out for 223 in 46.3 overs.
Next up for conflict will be New Zealand and Bangladesh.
The Kiwis will attempt to maintain their winning streak when they face Bangladesh on Friday, October 13 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. On the other hand, when they play South Africa on Tuesday, October 17 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, the Netherlands will be anxious for their first victory.
