The government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is constructing a new stadium in Gorakhpur, which would become Uttar Pradesh’s fourth international cricket arena. In Tal Nadaur, a 50-acre plot of land has been selected as the possible location for the stadium. The stadium is projected to be built for an estimated INR 236.40 crore, and construction is anticipated to go quickly.
The stadium building would occupy 45 acres of the 50 acres allocated for the stadium, with the remaining space being used for parking and other auxiliary buildings. It is suggested that a new road be constructed from the Varanasi-Gorakhpur route to connect the stadium, which is roughly 22 kilometres from the Raptinagar Bus Stand, 23.6 km from the Gorakhpur airport, and 20.8 km from the Gorakhpur Railway station.
The Times of India said that an official involved in the project stated, “Although international matches are currently held in Kanpur and Lucknow, the construction of another stadium in Varanasi is nearing completion, and work on the Gorakhpur International Cricket Stadium will begin soon.”
