‘Kya koi sochega aise kuch nahi hai’ – Urvil Patel reveals MS Dhoni’s advice to him

Urvil Patel shared the guidance he received from MS Dhoni during his call-up to CSK as an injured replacement in the IPL 2025. The wicketkeeper batter was interviewed by CSK, and the video was shared on their social media accounts. During the discussion, Patel disclosed Dhoni’s advise to him.

Patel alleged that the CSK captain asked him to continue playing the way he has been. He stated that Dhoni had asked him not to change anything about his batting. Dhoni wants Urvil to bat his style without regard for the opinion of others. He claimed that Dhoni’s speech was brief and lasted roughly five seconds.

“Mahi bhai, bas sirf aisa bola ki jo khelta aa rahe ho kaise bindass khelo. Sochega aise kuch nahi. Sirf tum bindass kehlo, best wishes. Bohot hello, easy. 5 seconds mai ho gaya tha unka (He told me to simply keep playing the way I was and not worry about what others would say. He encouraged me to play my game and wished me the best. It was quite straightforward. He was done in five seconds),” Urvil stated.

Urvil first met MS Dhoni during Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2023 between CSK and GT while he was with the Titans. He shared the interaction he had with the renowned athlete when they first met. Urvil Patel noted that he had come a long way from being his opponent to sharing the same locker room, jersey, and playing with him.

“Jab mai unse pehli baar milatha playoffs mai 2023 mai CSK vs GT mei, toh pehli baar unse baat hua tha. Maine unse photo click karwaya tha tab mai GT ke jersey mai tha aur woh CSK ka jersey mai. Abhi woh picture dekhta hu, bohot accha lagta hai. Jisko idol manta tha, sirf unko milne ka sapna tha, abhi unka sath dressing room sharing karne mil raha hai. Unke beneath mujhe playing 11 mai jagah mil rahi hai, and dono ek hi jersey mai. “Toh bohot hi accha lag raha hai,” Urvil explained.

It translates to: “When I first met him in a CSK vs GT playoff match in 2023, I spoke to him for the first time.” I had taken a picture with him while I was wearing the GT jersey and he was wearing the CSK jersey. When I look at the photo now, I feel great. I saw him as my idol, had a desire to meet him, and shared the changing room with him. I’m getting to play in the playing 11 under him, and we’re both wearing the same jersey. So I feel great.”
