At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) played the Gujarat Titans (GT) in a pivotal game where RR needed to chase down a commanding target of 210 runs to be in the running for the playoffs.
The 14-year-old wonder Vaibhav Suryavanshi and RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal provided the hosts a blazing start. The Indian Premier League (IPL)’s youngest player, Suryavanshi, made history by blasting a half-century in just 17 balls, the fastest in IPL 2025. With a spectacular innings that included 11 sixes and seven fours, the teenage left-hander reached the milestone in just 35 balls, earning the second-fastest century in IPL history.

On the third ball of the innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened his account with a six off Mohammed Siraj, making a spectacular entrance.
The youthful player punished the seasoned Ishant Sharma, who was hit for 28 runs with three sixes and two fours in the fourth over. In the fifth over, the Bihar-born batsman reached his record-breaking fifty after hitting two sixes and a four against Washington Sundar.
In addition to becoming the youngest player in IPL history to reach a half-century, Suryavanshi set two records: the quickest fifty for the Rajasthan Royals and the fastest fifty against the Gujarat Titans. The two left-handers put RR up to 87 runs by the end of the powerplay.
As he proceeded to dominate, Suryavanshi became the youngest player in IPL history to achieve a century. He hit 30 runs, including three sixes and three fours, in an over that Karim Janat bowled. Emotional emotions broke out at the stadium as he hit Rashid Khan with a six to complete his century. The entire stadium applauded as the young player took off his helmet to commemorate the momentous occasion, and RR head coach Rahul Dravid got out of his wheelchair to celebrate.
But when the Southpaw was dismissed for an incredible 101 runs by Prasidh Krishna, his incredible performance came to an end. He scored 94 boundaries out of all the runs he scored, keeping his boundary percentage at about 93.
GT had earlier amassed a respectable 209 runs in their 20 overs. With 84 runs off 50 balls, captain Shubman Gill took the lead. English batsman Jos Buttler, who reached his half-century on the last ball of the innings after playing a fast innings of 50 off 26 balls, provided him with strong assistance. Maheesh Theekshana was the best bowler for RR, finishing his four-over performance with figures of 2 for 35.
