The 36th IPL 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gets underway at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a difficult 180 runs goal for the home team.
Sanju Samson, RR’s captain, will miss the match owing to an injury he incurred against Delhi Capitals. RR added Impact Substitute Vaibhav Suryavanshi to add batting depth.
The 14-year-old prodigy made IPL history as the youngest debutant at 14 years and 23 days. He replaced Sandeep Sharma as an Impact Player.

Prayas Ray Barman, who played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) versus Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2019 at the age of 16 years and 157 days, was previously the youngest player to participate in the IPL.
LSG had earlier amassed a respectable 180 runs in their 20 overs. Ayush Badoni made a vital 50 off 34 deliveries, while Aiden Markram led the innings with a cool 66 off 45 balls. At the very end, Abdul Samad delivered spectacular fireworks by hitting 30 runs off just 10 balls, including four sixes. Wanindu Hasaranga was the standout bowler for RR, taking two wickets in his four overs.
Now, with a sizable home crowd supporting them, RR will try to catch up to the target and earn a vital victory.
