In IPL 2025 Match 28, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated the Rajasthan Royals by nine wickets in Jaipur. Sunday’s match was outstanding for the visiting team, who first held the Royals to just 173/4 on a level pitch in the first innings before launching an incredible chase that made the victory appear quite easy in the end.
To get the team to the mark, Virat Kohli, who was at his brilliant best during chases, produced an undefeated half-century.
Known for his athleticism, Kohli appeared to be in some discomfort during a fast double in the second inning. Following the run, the 36-year-old even asked rival wicketkeeper Sanju Samson to measure his heart rate. Social media users have been alleging that one of the nation’s fittest cricket players, Virat Kohli, is getting older after seeing a video of the event.

But for the star batsman, who reached his hundredth half-century in T20 cricket, it was a memorable night. With 108 fifties under his belt, David Warner is the only other Asian cricketer to reach the milestone. It is important to note that, with 8252 runs from 250 innings—including eight hundreds, the most by a batsman in the big event—Kohli is also the top run scorer in IPL history to date.
Referring back to the Delhi native’s most recent outing against RR, his innings, which featured four boundaries and a couple of sixes, saw him remain undefeated at 62 from 45 balls. Phil Salt went hammer and tongs on the powerplay, while Kohli served as an anchor in the beginning. With 15 balls remaining, Kohli managed to guide the ship and get RCB across the finish line after Salt was dismissed.
His next match is against the Punjab Kings, whom RCB will face on April 18 at the storied M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
