“First of all, I think that playing on the field is always enjoyable in and of itself, and you play to win. You essentially go to play for that reason. The most important thing to me is winning, so if a wicket falls, that’s another step in that direction. And with team sports, you put in a lot of effort alongside ten other individuals. In order to help the team win, I make an effort to savor and commemorate each moment,” Kohli stated.

Virat Kohli’s ODI record against Australia

Kohli was not playing well before the 2025 Champions Trophy. In the tournament’s opening match against Bangladesh, he was unable to convert his start. But he returned to form with a bang, smashing an undefeated century against Pakistan.
