It is a noteworthy development that top Indian batsman Virat Kohli will be ending his eight-year association with Puma India. Now set to start a new chapter as the brand ambassador for Agilitas Sports, the 35-year-old has been synonymous with the international sportswear brand since 2017.
Remarkably, the cricketer from Delhi started working with Puma in 2017 after he signed a 110 crore rupee contract, which propelled him to the top of the sports endorsement league. The charismatic cricket player has served as the face of Puma’s advertising efforts in India throughout the years. You can see him on billboards, TV, and in numerous social media posts.
When Virat Kohli’s endorsement agreement with Puma India expires later this year, he will reportedly join Agilitas Sports, which Abhishek Ganguly, the former managing director of Puma India, founded. The specifics of their exclusive collaboration haven’t been disclosed yet, but it’s anticipated to be a multi-year agreement in which Kohli will represent the May 2023-founded company.
It’s unclear when Virat Kohli will rejoin the Indian squad.
Virat Kohli gave a personal excuse for missing the first two Test matches he played against England. His close friend, AB de Villiers, recently disclosed that the cricket player is currently spending time with his family and expecting his second child. As it stands, not enough is known about Kohli’s expected return for the third Test in Rajkot. KL Rahul is reportedly fit and prepared to play in the third Test; however, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet made an official statement regarding his availability.
Rahul will take Rajat Patidar’s spot in the playing XI if Virat is unable to play. Shreyas Iyer may need to make way for the star batter, though, if he returns. However, there has been no news regarding Mohammed Shami, who hasn’t participated in a game since sustaining an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup. In the meantime, Ravindra Jadeja’s surprise return in the Rajkot Test is noteworthy.
