Virat Kohli, a batsman with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has completed 600 fours in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On Thursday, April 20, in Mohali, during the IPL 2023 matchup against Punjab Kings (PBKS), he reached the milestone.
David Warner, the opening player for the Delhi Capitals (DC), hit his 600th IPL four on April 11. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi’s IPL 2023 encounter versus the Mumbai Indians (MI), the DC captain pulled off this accomplishment. He scored 51 from 47 balls in the game, including six fours, taking his career total of fours to 604 runs. But as of right now, he has 608 fours in IPL history.
Shikhar Dhawan, the captain of the Punjab Kings, has 730 fours to his credit, the highest in IPL history. In the IPL, Virat Kohli ranks third in terms of four-pointers made, behind only Dhawan and David Warner. The captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI), Rohit Sharma, and the former batter for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Suresh Raina, are ranked fourth and fifth on this list, respectively.
Faf du Plessis, the RCB’s usual captain, is playing as an impact player while Virat Kohli is leading the team. Notably, the South African batsman was hurt while watching RCB play Chennai Super Kings.
In the IPL 2023 points standings, PBKS is presently ranked fifth with six points after five games, winning three and losing two. Punjab won by two wickets over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 21 to get back on the winning track after consecutive losses to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT). Notably, Sam Curran, an all-around player, served as team captain in Dhawan’s absence.
On the other hand, RCB has four points from five games—two victories and three losses—and is now in eighth position. The team had previously lost against MS Dhoni and company by an eight-run margin. Since the two points are essential for both clubs to maintain their playoff hopes, they will both be striving for victory.
