An avid fan of Virat Kohli took to Twitter to announce that he was getting married on the same day that the former India captain scored his 74th international century for India on Sunday. This news came as fans went crazy after seeing Kohli score 166 runs without being dismissed in the third one-day international match.
The same fan was seen earlier with a banner that read, “I won’t get married till Virat scores his 71st international tonne,” while watching one of India’s matches in the stadium. The banner was seen during one of India’s matches. Kohli had a well-known streak of nearly three years in which he did not hit the triple-digit score.
However, ever since the 33-year-old put an end to the dry spell in the Asia Cup match against Afghanistan in 2017, it has appeared as though he had returned to the prime of his career.
The fan posted a picture of himself dressed in a sherwani along with the following message on Twitter after Virat Kohli had achieved his 74th international century: “I asked for the 71st century but he scored 74th on my special day.” Virat Kohli was celebrating his birthday at the time.
