After 20 years of marriage, Indian great Virender Sehwag and his wife, Aarti Ahlawat, are reportedly on the verge of divorcing. Although neither party has released an official declaration, the 2004 wedding couple is rumored to have been living apart for several months.
From 1999 to 2013, the former opener, who was renowned for his explosive batting, had a remarkable career. Despite being in the spotlight as the husband of a well-known batter, his wife, Aarti, has mostly kept a modest profile. Beginning in the early 2000s, the couple’s romance culminated in a lavish wedding held at the home of the late Arun Jaitley, who was India’s finance minister at the time. Aryavir, born in 2007, and Vedant, born in 2010, are their two sons together.
Born in New Delhi on December 16, 1980, Aarti attended Lady Irwin Secondary School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan before graduating from Maitreyi College, Delhi University, with a diploma in computer science.
During the 2023 Diwali festivities, Virender Sehwag posted pictures of himself with his mother and sons but left Aarti out, which was the first indication of a conflict.
This raised questions about how their relationship was going. Furthermore, Sehwag posted pictures from her journey to the Vishwa Nagayakshi Temple in Palakkad on Instagram two weeks ago, but the caption made no reference to Aarti. Many saw the couple’s decision to unfollow one another on Instagram as an indication of their growing estrangement.
