In the opening match of a two-match Test series last week in Adelaide, Australia defeated the West Indies by a margin of ten wickets. The second Test is slated to begin on Thursday, January 25, at The Gabba in Brisbane.The West Indies had their chances in the first Test, but at pivotal occasions, Australian experience worked to their advantage. In the first Test, Shamar Joseph, Justin Greaves, and Kaven Hodge were the three debutants for the tourists.

With both bat and ball, the latter, a right-arm pacer from the isolated Guyana community of Baracara, made an impression.Joseph took five wickets in the first innings after making a fun 36 off 41 balls, limiting Australia’s lead to 95. With just 12 balls in the second inning, Shamar Joseph scored fifteen runs. Personally, Joseph had an incredible beginning to his global career. The youthful player expressed his affection for the great Australian batsman Steve Smith, whom he had dismissed off the opening ball in a Test match, at the news conference held following the first day of play.

“Releasing Steve Smith. That player is one of my favorites. To be honest, I adore Steve Smith’s style of play and approach to cricket,” Joseph remarked.

A recent video of Smith and Joseph hooking up in Adelaide was released by Cricket Australia. Joseph makes it clear to Smith how much he likes him during the positive exchange. Inquiring into the seamer’s residence, age, and Caribbean Premier League (CPL) background, the Australian batter also recommended that he pursue a move up the batting order.
