The World Championship of Legends’ second season, which is set to begin in the UK in July, will feature Yuvraj Singh, a distinguished Indian cricket legend. The renowned all-rounder earlier showed great leadership by leading the Indian team to a championship win in the tournament’s first year. Accomplished opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who retired from international cricket last year, will be joining Yuvraj in his tournament debut.
Yuvraj Singh expressed his excitement about leading India once more in the second WCL T20 competition, which is supported by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
He stated, “I’m looking forward to representing our nation at the World Championship of Legends again.” Together with my teammates, I will always cherish the memories of our triumph in the tournament’s inaugural edition.
Indian cricketing legends Yuvraj, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, Irfan and Yusuf Pathan, and many more gave incredible performances at the last World Championship of Legends, demonstrating their unwavering love for the game.
The competition swiftly gained international attention after Indian cricket fans saw their heroes play powerfully on the main stage.
The World Championship of Legends’ founder, Harshit Tomar, expressed his vision for the competition by saying, “I’ve always seen this tournament as a way forward for cricket to have its future through its senior cricketers.”
Seeing cricket’s best players recreate the same enchantment that made them immortal has been gratifying and fulfilling. “Our goal has always been to host our cricket heroes with the utmost care and skill, and they are our sentiments,” he continued.
Nishant Pitti, the chairman and founder of EaseMyTrip and the WCL’s chief patron, added to the excitement by expressing his delight about the league’s influence on international cricket. More than merely a competition, the World Championship of Legends honors the greatest athletes in history and their lasting contributions. We at EaseMyTrip are excited to be a part of this incredible adventure that presents fans with a nostalgic yet fiercely competitive cricketing experience, reunites renowned cricket players, and reignites legendary rivalries.
Sumant Bahl, Salman Ahmed, and Jaspal Bahra’s India Champions are scheduled to return to Edgbaston prepared to face elite international players from Australia, the West Indies, England, Pakistan, and South Africa in intense matches.
“Being the owner of the storied Team India Champions, working with the Legends, and winning the inaugural edition’s trophy by defeating bitter rivals Pakistan is still like a dream come true. We are very excited about season 2 and are looking forward to repeating the history this year with the help of a stronger and better team,” said Sumant Bahl, co-owner of Team India Champions.
It has been said that the WCL is a game-changing competition that brings retired cricket legends back into the public eye and rekindles their competitive spirit.
