Since he crushed a 35-ball century against the Gujarat Titans (GT) earlier this week, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been the talk of the cricket community. The batsman for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) scored the second-quick century overall and the fastest by an Indian player in the IPL.
Recently, Rahul Dravid, the head coach of RR, praised Suryavanshi for his ability to bat boldly under duress, particularly considering that he is only 14. They are urging the southpaw to enjoy his game and gain knowledge from his experiences, according to the former captain of India.
“What’s really remarkable to me is his fearlessness and the way he remains unfazed by the situation or the circumstances around him. That is unusual for someone so young. His shooting range is also impressive. He will have to continue putting in a lot of effort, honing his craft, and getting better.
Given the nature of T20 cricket, he will experience ups and downs as teams get more intelligent against him. We’re merely encouraging him to play the game the way he wants to—take it on and express himself. We want him to enjoy himself and enjoy the experience for the time being, but he will undoubtedly make mistakes and learn from them,” Dravid stated on the Star Sports Press Room.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opener for RR, was praised by Dravid for his reliability at the bat in the 2025 Indian Premier League and for helping to mentor Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
“This season, Yashasvi has been remarkably reliable. Even at the age of 22 or 23, he is gradually assuming a more mature role, particularly while playing with Vaibhav. Seeing how others helped him in his early years and now returning the favour by mentoring younger players is fantastic for his development as well,” Dravid stated.
By defeating Gujarat, the Rajasthan Royals snapped a five-game losing streak. They will now try to halt the Mumbai Indians’ winning streak of five games when they play the five-time champions on Thursday, May 1, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
