The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take place on Tuesday, June 3, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both teams have never won the IPL championship, but after the highly awaited match, one of them will have broken the curse.
Ahead of the summit match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar praised the efforts of the iconic Virat Kohli and stated that he and his colleagues will strive to win the IPL trophy for the former India captain.
“I believe he has dedicated many years to RCB as well as the international side. “We will do our best in the game,” Patidar assured the reporters here on Monday at his pre-match press conference with PBKS’ Shreyas Iyer.
Patidar was also questioned if it’s disappointing to have an individual player receive the focus ahead of the final, despite the fact that RCB has been one of the most dominant teams this season. The Madhya Pradesh batter answered the challenging question calmly.
“I believe it is not frustrating for me. We don’t see on the stage that we’re in the finals. We shall attempt to play our best cricket. We’re not playing for the stage. “I always like to keep things simple,” he explained.
RCB made history in IPL 2025, winning all seven away games.
The Kohli factor has been on display, with RCB fans flocking to every stadium to show their support for the veteran and his side.
“Wherever we go, we feel that the crowd is a home ground for us and (given) the way they are showing support and love from the (last many) years,” added the actor.
RCB, however, will be concerned over the availability of the in-form Tim David, who has not featured in their last two matches so far owing to a hamstring injury he sustained while fielding in a game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“Till now, I have no idea about Tim David. Doctors are there and we will get to know this evening,” Patidar mentioned.
