Rishabh Pant hasn’t played competitive cricket for 13 months, but he may not have to wait long to go back on the field because he is anticipated to captain the Delhi Capitals in the next Indian Premier League (IPL).
Rishabh Pant was involved in a near-fatal vehicle accident and received several injuries. He watched England play ‘Bazball’ cricket against Australia in the Ashes last year, which he liked during his recuperation. Ben Stokes and company overcame a couple of early losses to win the remaining two games of the five-match series 2-2. Pant, an accomplished Test cricket player, claimed that India skipper Rohit Sharma informed him that the team would try to play “Rishball.”
“Because England has begun playing in a way that I am accustomed to [playing].” We’re going to play Rishball also, says Rohit Bhai. In Believe: To Death and Back, Pant said to Star Sports, “He says you play that anyway, but we will get others to also follow you.
“There are things you can control when you’re inside,” said Rishabh Pant, reflecting on the Delhi Capitals‘ dismal 2023 IPL campaign from the sidelines.
The Delhi Capitals selected David Warner as their captain for the upcoming season after the wicketkeeper-batter was unable to participate in the Indian Premier League. The Delhi-based club had an awful season, ranking 9th in the 10-team competition with five wins and nine losses from their 14 games played.
Rishabh Pant, who was present at the Capitals’ home field, Arun Jaitley Stadium, stated that he didn’t enjoy seeing his club struggle from the stands. He said that if he had been in the middle, he would have handled things differently.
“It wasn’t that enjoyable for me [laughs]. I was considering the following approach:. I was having a conversation with them [the think tank in Capitals]. However, it was different because I was outside. You have control over some things when you’re inside,” Pant continued.
