The West Indies will meet Nepal in a three-match T20I series in Sharjah in September 2025. It will be the first bilateral series between the two teams at the highest level, and it might play a significant part in the sport’s globalisation. The series represents an opportunity for the West Indies to empower their emerging team, while Nepal will get exposure against the two-time world champions.
Following the series’ announcement, Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring spoke with the media and termed it as a celebration of the game’s ‘growing worldwide reach’. As a full-member nation, Dehring felt it as his job to contribute to cricket by involving teams that do not get to play against some of the greatest sides in the globe on a regular basis.
“This series is more than just a collection of international matches; it’s a celebration of the game’s growing global presence and a monument to what cricket stands for: pride, purpose, and the force of unity. As a full-member nation, we believe it is our responsibility to contribute to the development of cricket beyond our boundaries’, stated the CWI CEO in a media interaction with Windiescricket.com.
