Ace KL Rahul, an Indian cricketer, celebrated his recent century in an unusual way on Friday, October 3. On Day 2 of the first Test of the two-match series in Ahmedabad, Rahul scored his 11th Test century for India against West Indies.
The 197-ball 100 was his second Test century at home, following the 199 in the 2016 Chennai Test against England.
KL Rahul hit the milestone in the 65th over of India’s first innings, blasting the ball beyond short midwicket and jogging through for one.
He then took off his helmet, raised his bat, and placed two fingers in his lips in a distinctive celebration. Speaking to broadcasters after the day’s play, Rahul disclosed that the celebration was for Evaarah, his and Athiya Shetty’s baby born in March 2025.

Unfortunately for Rahul, he was unable to add to his total when he was removed by Jomel Warrican right after lunch for being caught at covers by Justin Greaves. The 33-year-old’s excellent knock included 12 fours.
Meanwhile, India finished the day with 448/5 from 128 overs. Dhruv Jurel (125 off 210) and Ravindra Jadeja (104* off 176) formed a 206-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Jurel’s remarkable performance came to an end, as the wicketkeeper-batsman became Khary Pierre’s first Test wicket.
Jadeja and Washington Sundar (9* off 13) will resume India’s batting on the third day of the contest. The hosts already have a massive 286-run lead. It seems increasingly difficult for a young and relatively inexperienced West Indian side to script a comeback from here.
Out of the five batters to fall, Sai Sudharsan was the only one who registered a single-digit score. He was dismissed for 7 off 19.
