On Thursday, May 1, in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals (RR) players wore a special “Pink Jersey” for Match 50 against the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025. When they faced the five-time champions, the RR players wore all-pink clothing, in contrast to their original shirt, which is a mix of pink and blue colours. It’s a component of RR’s yearly ‘Pink Promise’ campaign, which supports Rajasthani women’s welfare.
‘Pink Promise’ Initiative: Supporting Women in Rajasthan
RR released a statement on their website and addressed the special initiative. In their statement, the inaugural champions confirmed the match against MI to feature the RR players in all-pink attire as a part of the ‘Pink promise match’. Their statement claimed that the Pink Promise match in 2024 helped in lighting thousands of homes in collaboration with a lighting products company.
Impact of ‘Pink Promise’ Match: Empowering Women-Led Transformation
“The Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians clash is also the highly anticipated Pink Promise match in the IPL 2025. The Royals’ Pink Promise is to continue supporting women-led transformation in Rajasthan. Last year, the ‘Pink Promise’ campaign, along with support from partners like Luminous, illuminated thousands of lives by bringing light to over 250 homes,” RR’s statement claimed on their website.
In their statement, Rajasthan Royals added that they will contribute INR 100 from every ticket purchased in the match between them and MI towards women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan.
The social impact initiatives for the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF) will be funded by the proceeds of the sales from this special match, as per RR’s statement.
“To continue driving on-ground impact this year, the Rajasthan Royals will contribute ₹100 for every ticket purchased for the RR vs MI match toward women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan. Additionally, all proceeds from the sale of the special all-pink Royals jersey will go directly to the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF) to support its social impact initiatives,” RR added in their statement.
In their statement, RR concluded by claiming to lighten up six homes in the Sambhar region with solar power with each six hit in the match. “Furthermore, for every six hit in the match by either team, Rajasthan Royals and RRF will commit to lighting up six homes in the Sambhar region with solar power, ensuring real-time impact with every boundary,” the franchise added.
