Mohammed Rizwan gave Hasan Nawaz a message of encouragement during the opening ODI of the three-match series against the West Indies. With an undefeated score of 63 off 54, Hasan Nawaz assisted his team in defeating the hosts by five wickets.
The 22-year-old, who won Player of the Match for his knock, revealed that Rizwan instructed him to get Pakistan across the finish line during his first ODI match in order to create some memorable memories for the moment.
“I wanted to make it special because it was my first match. During our batting session, Rizwan told me, “It’s your debut, you have to finish the match.” According to a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Hasan Nawaz stated, “You have to finish it,” as he was leaving after being removed.
They provided a great deal of assistance and were crucial to the victory: Hasan Nawaz
Hasan Nawaz said that after Pakistan lost both of their openers by the 12th over, Babar Azam and Rizwan helped lead the team to a reasonably comfortable position.
It was the plan, and I was also confident because I had previously finished matches in the PSL. That thing that allows me to get tremendous hits in the end was also there. You gain a lot of knowledge from Babar and Rizwan, who are match-winners in their style of play. They teach us a lot, then. They were quite helpful, and that was a major factor in the victory. They managed our early wicket losses of one or two extremely well, and we later benefited from that,” he continued.
With seven deliveries remaining and five wickets taken, Pakistan prevailed. Hussain Talat (41* off 37) and Hasan put together an undefeated 104-run partnership off just 70 balls. Brian Lara Stadium will be the site of the final two games.
