The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025’s Match No. 58, which was scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, was anticipated to pit Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Kolkata Knight Riders. However, the match was called off without a toss because of the heavy rain.
Ultimately, the match ended with both teams splitting a point each. Even though RCB increased their prospects of making the playoffs, KKR, the reigning champions, are now the fourth team to be eliminated from the qualification competition this season.
Right now, RCB leads the IPL 2025 points table.
In honour of Virat Kohli‘s first professional match following his Test retirement, the Chinnaswamy supporters had dressed in white jerseys and arrived for the game fully prepared. They were unable to see their favourite player, Kohli, take the pitch, though. Another question that now comes up is whether or not RCB will provide ticket holders who attended this match a refund.
Will the fans get refund?
Yes. RCB has officially provided an update for those wondering if they will get a full refund for their ticket. Any taxes or convenience fee paid to secure the tickets, whether digitally or offline, may not be reversed, and only the face value of the ticket price will be refunded.
“As the game between RCB and KKR on 17th May 2025 was abandoned due to inclement weather, all valid ticket holders are eligible for a full refund,” the franchise said in a statement via its social media handles on Sunday, May 18.
What is the refund process for Digital/Online ticket holders?
Online or digital ticket holders are to receive the refund for their tickets on or by May 31, 2025. In case they do not receive the refund, they will have to email the official ticket provider (refund@ticketgenie.in) in order to make a claim.
What is the refund process for Physical/Offline ticket holders?
As per the same release, those who bear a physical ticket will need to collect their refund from the same places where they sourced it from. Those who had complimentary passes for the game will not be entitled to any refund whatsoever, RCB further clarified.
