Beginning on February 10, the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will feature up to 10 teams vying for the coveted championship. The upcoming gala event will be held in South Africa, which successfully hosted the maiden ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in January.
Two groups of five teams each are formed from the ten teams. Seven teams qualified automatically, while South Africa qualified since they were the hosts. Ireland and Bangladesh both advanced from the qualifiers. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage after the teams play round-robin matches in their respective groups during the first round.
