Following Yash Dayal misfortune in his final over against Kolkata Knight Riders in the thirteenth T20 of the Indian Premier League, his father, Chandrapal Dayal has revealed how the family endured the terrible evening.
The Gujarat Titans’ stand-in captain, Rashid Khan, sent in Yash Dayal to defend 29 runs in the final over. However, the youthful Uttar Pradesh fast bowler had no idea that KKR’s middle-order batsman Rinku Singh would make the over legendary, rendering it forgettable for him. In a thrilling match, Rinku struck five consecutive sixes off the final five deliveries to defeat the Titans.
Chandrapal disclosed that Dayal’s mother, Radha Dayal, had subsequently ceased eating and required special care from the family. Yash Dayal stated that his nutritionist daughter, Shuchi, who also manages Yash Dayal’s dietary needs, attempted to comfort her mother.
Yesterday was a catastrophe, according to Yash Dayal, who was quoted by Times of India.
However, Chandrapal, who himself had been a cricketer during his university days, representing North Zone in the Vizzy trophy, defended his son, stating that such moments were a part of athletics and that lessons must be drawn from them and applied in real life.
“This is the stuff of which sport is made. Even though failures are inevitable in life, it is essential to remain resilient “said Chandrapal.
He also reasoned that Rinku had no choice but to pulverize the ball in the final over, and since he played for the same state team as Dayal, it may have favored him to pick up the lines and lengths and execute the impossible with perfection.
“He (Rinku) simply had to destroy every ball, and they are familiar with one another. It could have been useful for Rinku, but it simply wasn’t his day. Many outstanding cricketers (including Chetan Sharma) have experienced this “Chandrapal Yash Dayal.
Chandrapal praises Hardik Pandya and the rest of the GT for assisting his son to recover.
Chandrapal also thanked the Gujarat Titans and, in particular, captain Hardik Pandya for not giving up on Dayal and bolstering him up following the disastrous performance. He stated that Pandya and colleagues spent time with him and provided him with companionship to help him recover. He added that the crew had special fun sessions with Dayal to share some lighter moments.
“They made him sit in the center and offered him consolation. They shared some lighthearted moments with him during the naach-gaana (dance, music) that followed “Chandrapal said.
