Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal is prepared to start for India in English and Australian conditions, according to seasoned bowler Ishant Sharma. Notably, the 21-year-old was outstanding in his first Test match against the West Indies and is regarded as a potential player who can help Indian cricket in the coming ten years.
Notable accomplishments include the cricketer from Uttar Pradesh’s 1845 runs in 15 first-class games and his success in the Indian Premier League. Jaiswal was given the chance to make his debut in the Caribbean as a result, and he was able to establish his value by scoring a sparkling ton.
Ishant noted that Yashasvi Jaiswal was able to hit, cut and pull strokes against the new ball with ease, which is a good indicator, when discussing his performance in the first test. The cricketer avoided playing cover drives since there was a danger of being caught behind or in the slips, he added.
Ishant stated during the discussion on JioCinema that he was “absolutely ready” to play in England and Australia because all of the boundaries he hit, particularly against the new ball, came from cut or pull shots.
“An opening batter should be encouraged when he chooses not to play a cover drive to a full pitch. There is a possibility of getting caught behind or in the slips if you choose to play the cover drive. He simply attempted to make runs by cutting and pulling the new ball, which is the strength of every batter. Except for the occasional stray shot, he always either protected the ball or played with the entire bat face. For an opener, this becomes crucial, he continued.
After Day 2, India leads by 162 runs.
India is in control of the first Test thanks to Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma’s outstanding century. Notably, the captain reached his tenth test century, but he was unable to build on it. Jaiswal, a southpaw, returned to stumps with a score of 143, undefeated.
Shubman Gill, batting at No. 3, dropped his wicket relatively cheaply, but Virat Kohli is once again looking strong, as the 34-year-old took some time to get comfortable before finishing the day undefeated at 36. On Day 3, the dynamic he will have with Jaiswal could very well determine the outcome of the match.
