Yashasvi Jaiswal, an Indian Test opener, will continue to represent Mumbai after dropping his request to relocate to Goa. The 23-year-old had already requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the transfer, and the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) granted his withdrawal on Monday, June 30.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently with the Indian side in England, and he last played for Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy match at the BKC field last season.
“The Apex Council has allowed Yashasvi Jaiswal’s appeal to withdraw his No Objection Certificate (NOC) to represent another state. “He will remain available for Mumbai,” the MCA stated in a statement.
“Yashasvi has always been a proud representative of Mumbai cricket. “We have accepted his withdrawal NOC application, and he will be available for Mumbai during the upcoming domestic season,” stated Association president Ajinkya Naik.
The left-handed hitter has played ten Ranji Trophy games for Mumbai, amassing 863 runs at an average of 53.93, including four hundreds. In List A cricket, he has 1,296 runs in 25 innings at an average of 58, including five hundreds. In T20 cricket, he has 648 runs in 26 innings for Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the MCA stated that Arman Jaffer and Sidhant Adatrao have been granted NOCs and would represent Pondicherry in the forthcoming domestic season. The Cricket Association of Pondicherry has officially confirmed this development. The Southern team will be joined by Puneet Datey, a former Madhya Pradesh player.
In another key action, the MCA established a committee dedicated to the welfare and development of differently abled players.
“In a constructive step towards inclusivity and accordance with the MCA Constitution, the Council has decided to form a Differently Abled Players Cricket Committee. These choices demonstrate the MCA’s long-standing dedication to tradition, inclusivity, and the development of cricket at all levels,” the MCA stated.
