After winning the T20 World Cup in 2024 and retiring from T20Is, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have undoubtedly struggled in red-ball cricket. However, the pair remains a formidable force in white-ball cricket, and it will only be a matter of time until things start to go their way. The Champions Trophy 2025 is still going on, and both star hitters and their fans are hoping for a comeback.
Yuvraj Singh, a former cricket player for India who has played a lot of cricket with the Indian cricket legends, has endorsed them to win an ICC tournament.
In the process, he emphasized their relevance ahead of the pivotal match against Pakistan on February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium as well as their influence on Indian cricket over the past 20 years.
“All Indian players are unquestionably excellent, but Virat and Rohit are exceptional. This is due to their enormous influence on the squad and their nearly two decades of steady performance. Pakistan’s morale will increase and India’s dressing room will be significantly improved if they leave early, Yuvraj stated on JioHotstar.
“The remaining Indian players are still growing, but that doesn’t mean they won’t perform—they are extremely gifted. In a similar vein, the opposition’s bowlers gain momentum after Babar Azam is removed for Pakistan, and the strain is felt in the dressing room. The lower and middle order must do better if Pakistan is to win. Pakistan may benefit if India loses both Virat and Rohit early,” he continued.
Rohit appeared to be in fine form as he quickly scored almost 40 runs in the opening match against Bangladesh. With six wickets left, India completed the goal after he hit seven boundaries and set the tone for a 229-run chase.
