Star Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma are reportedly on the verge of divorcing, according to several sources. Sources close to the couple confirm that the news of their split are accurate. The sources claim that although the divorce proceedings are still ongoing, the separation is unavoidable and that the terms will soon be decided.
“The divorce will undoubtedly occur, and its formalisation is just a matter of time. Although the precise cause of their split is unknown at this time, it is evident that the couple has made the decision to live their lives apart,” the Times of India cited an insider as saying.
Notably, when the pair unfollowed one another on Instagram, the divorce speculations started to spread. The pair has additionally deleted images of themselves together from the social media site. Chahal married Dhanashree in December 2020.

With his final ODI and T20I played in January and August of 2023, respectively, Chahal is currently out of the national reckoning across all forms. He does, however, still play domestic cricket, particularly in the IPL. In the meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals fired Chahal prior to the IPL 2025 big auction.
Alongside Shreyas Iyer, the star spinner was acquired by Punjab Kings for INR 18 crore during the big auction. Chahal, who has excelled in the IPL, will look to do well with the Punjab Kings once again. Chahal is the most prolific wicket-taker in IPL history, having taken 205 wickets at an average of 22.44 with an economy of 7.84 over 160 games.
