Following his wife Dhanashree Verma’s response to the rumours, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal recently addressed the ongoing divorce rumours on social media. Viral rumours concerning the couple’s relationship have cast doubt on them since their intimate ceremony on December 22, 2020.
After the pair unfollowed one another on Instagram, there was a lot of speculation about Chahal’s marriage to YouTuber and choreographer Dhanashree. Both people were negatively impacted by the commotion, therefore Chahal sent a thorough letter asking the supporters to refrain from disseminating unsubstantiated rumours.
Yuzvendra Chahal discussed the negative consequences of the rumours in his Instagram story.
He brought out the suffering his family had endured as a result of speculative social media posts, without specifically bringing up Dhanashree or their relationship.
I would not have made it this far without the steadfast love and support of all of my followers, for which I am thankful. However, this adventure is far from over! Because I have a lot more amazing OVERS to give to my fans, my team, and my country! I’m proud to be a sportsman, but I’m also a friend, a brother, and a son. I can appreciate people’s interest in current events, especially those pertaining to my personal life. But in his statement, Chahal said, “I have seen some social media posts that speculate on things that might or might not be true.”
As a friend, brother, and son, I respectfully ask that everyone refrain from engaging in these rumours, as they have caused me and my family great suffering. My family’s ideals have taught me to always hope for the best for everyone and to work hard and dedicate myself to success rather than taking quick cuts. I’m still devoted to these principles. With God’s blessing, I will always try to find your love and support rather than pity,” he said.
The character assassination and the bogus writing are really distressing: Dhanashree Verma.
Prior to this, Dhanashree had also expressed her opinions and mentioned the unfounded accusations and character assassination she had encountered. She underlined how crucial it is to refrain from spreading negativity.
“My family and I have had a really difficult few days. What’s really distressing are the blatantly hateful writing that lacks fact-checking and the character assassination of my reputation by anonymous trolls. For years, I have put a lot of effort into establishing my reputation and moral character. My quiet is an indication of strength rather than weakness. Uplifting people requires compassion and bravery, but negativity spreads readily on the internet,” she added.
In the meantime, the spinner has been playing local cricket for Haryana even though he hasn’t been a member of India’s national team since January 2023. Chahal was just released by the Rajasthan Royals and signed by the Punjab Kings at the IPL 2025 mega auction for an incredible INR 18 crore. He still holds the record for most wickets taken in IPL history with 205 in 160 games.
