In the second ODI against England on Sunday, February 9, in Cuttack, Indian captain Rohit Sharma made a spectacular comeback to form with a century. Before the 2025 Champions Trophy, his innings silenced the sceptics and led the hosts to a vital victory.
But when the DJ started playing music during a pivotal moment in the game, Rohit lost his temper. The match resumed after a brief break in play because of a floodlight malfunction, but the DJ kept playing music. This annoyed the opener, who was trying to get back into the swing of things after the break.
“Band kar b******d,” cameras caught Sharma angrily shouting at the DJ.
Notably, Rohit Sharma, who had been having trouble lately, finally settled into a groove during this game. He hit 119 off 90 balls, including seven sixes and 12 fours. In addition to helping India win the match by four wickets, his knock also guaranteed the three-match series with one game remaining.

Rohit Sharma’s 16-month drought of 100 runs comes to an end.
With his first ODI century since the 2023 World Cup, the Nagpur native eclipsed the record of 30 hundreds held by the famous Australian captain Ricky Ponting, putting him third on the all-time list, behind only Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. His collaboration with the vital half-century-scoring Shubman Gill laid the groundwork for India’s successful chase. India won thanks to the efforts of Axar Patel (41) and Shreyas Iyer (44) in particular. Because of his valour, the experienced batter was named Player of the Match.
“It was wonderful to be out there and help the team score some runs. There is a series at stake and a crucial game. I broke it up however I wanted to bat. It is a much shorter format than Test cricket and longer than T20 cricket. You must, however, evaluate the situation and bat appropriately.
My goal was to remain concentrated and hit as deep as I could. It’s crucial to display the entire bat face when playing on black dirt because the pitch has a tendency to slip a little. I had my plan ready as well because they were attempting to bowl into the body and not make space. In the post-match interview, Rohit stated, “I took advantage of the gaps and clearly received good support from Gill and then Shreyas.”
