While completing a single in the 20th over of the host nation’s innings, young pacer Harshit Rana was shoulder-bumped by captain Mohammad Rizwan during India vs. Pakistan’s current match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The incident clearly distressed Rana.
The incident happened while the Men in Green were attempting to salvage their innings following the early loss of their top order. After a sluggish start, Rizwan and Saud Shakeel had started to pick up speed, hitting four fence hits in three overs to end a boundary drought.
Shortly after, Rizwan bumped shoulders with Rana in the center of the crease while playing a short-length delivery and hurrying for a quick single. The contact irritated the Indian pacer, who raised his arms in exasperation and questioned the right-hand batter’s behavior.

Rizwan’s catch was dropped by Rana.
At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan captain Muhammad Rizwan chose to bat first after winning the toss earlier in the game. With a 43-run partnership between Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq, the Men in Green got off to a respectable start. But when KL Rahul caught Babar nicking one behind off Hardik Pandya, their collaboration was over. Pakistan was under pressure at 45/2 after Imam was run out in the very next over.
Rizwan and Shakeel put together a 52-run partnership as Pakistan searched for stability. But the Green Shirts captain had his fair share of bad luck when Harshit Rana dropped him in the 33rd over. As Rizwan faced Pandya’s delivery, he missed a shot. Despite moving sideways and jumping to collect with both hands, the Delhi bowler, who was positioned at midwicket, was unable to make the catch.
However, the 32-year-old misread a delivery from Axar Patel in the 34th over, ending his innings. He tried to go big by stepping down the track, but a full ball beat him and crashed into his stumps. He left with three boundaries and a 46-run knock off 77 balls.
