Support has been shown for Greg Chappell, a respected member of the Australian cricket fraternity, who is presently having financial troubles. Unlike many of his peers, Chappell was not allowed to participate in a fundraising testimonial event at the end of his career, despite being well-known for his incredible accomplishments as a batter during the 1970s and 80s.
In order to demonstrate Australian cricket AND their support, Eddie McGuire held a testimonial luncheon at the MCG with notable attendees including Ian and Trevor Chappell.
To help the cricketing star financially, a GoFundMe website was also established.
