Right then! India Women Under-19 won their game after a complete washout of the first game and went to the top of the table. Scotland Women have been pushed out of the race after the washout of their game and for Sri Lanka Women, they still have a do-or-die game against Australia Women. The captain of India Women Under-19, Niki Prasad says that she is really happy with their overall performance, giving a good show. On being asked about the opening bowlers, she mentions that it is the need for every team for the pacers to provide those early breakthroughs and set the tone forward. Says that their preparations have been really good and they just try to reflect the same when they take the field. Ends up saying that they will just try to get better and better every game.
The captain of Bangladesh Women Under-19, Sumaiya Akter says that the top order has been a problem for them in this entire tournament and that is one thing they wanna overcome as soon as possible. She further adds that the run-outs were very costly for the side and it was not at all professional from the team's perspective. India Women Under-19's batting started off strong as Trisha Gongadi went on to score a quickfire 40 for her side and just took the wind out of the sails of the Bangladeshi bowlers. Sanika Chalke also joined her after the dismissal of Kamalini G and the two batters took the game away from the Bangladesh Women Under-19 bowlers altogether. India won the game comfortably in just 7.1 overs with 8 wickets intact. A good day at the office for the girls and the management surely will be a happy one on the Indian side.
Good decision from the India Women Under-19 to bowl first under the circumstances on an overcast sky. Bangladesh Women Under-19 were on the back foot from the start itself after losing 3 quick wickets. Vaishnavi Sharma then picked up 3 wickets for herself, climbing up to the top of the wicket-takers list in the tournament. The Bangladesh Women Under-19 middle order was taken by surprise and after some resistance from the lower order, Bangladesh managed a first-innings score of 64/8 after batting the whole 20 overs.
India Women Under-19 clinch up a good win against Bangladesh Women Under-19, putting a better performance in all three parts of the game. Chasing down 65 in 7.1 overs with 8 wickets in hand takes the Indian team to the top of the table, equalling the points with Australia, and staying ahead on the net run rate!
