Mohammad Mithun, the victorious skipper of Chittagong Kings says that the batters did their job putting up a good total and the bowlers backed them brilliantly. Adds that they have all the areas covered with Shamim Hossain and Haider Ali as finishers, and the top order also in form - this is their specialty. Ends by saying that every game is important for them and he is excited for the home leg in Chattogram.
Graham Clark is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his amazing knock of 60 off 33. Adds that he felt it was a good wicket and their plan was to get to 200, which they did. Adds that there was no real swing or seam, and he had no pressure when he came on to bat as Usman Khan was striking it cleanly in the middle. Ends by saying that he had a chat in the hut and they told him to play positively.
Ariful Haque, the captain of Sylhet Strikers says that he thought the wicket would help the bowlers early on and wanted to take advantage by bowling first, but they could not utilise it. Adds that while chasing, losing three wickets in the Powerplay was not ideal and that slowed things up for them. Credits the way George Munsey and Jaker Ali batted, but admits that they needed someone from the top order to play a big know and a few more sixes could have been the difference. Acknowledges the home fans for their incredible support throughout this leg and hopes that they do well in the next round of matches.
Presentation Time...
Chittagong Kings were outstanding with the ball in the Powerplay, grabbing three early wickets to set the tone. They maintained control until the halfway stage of the innings. However, as the dew set in, gripping the ball became challenging, and the runs started to flow. The momentum began to shift, but Khaled Ahmed struck at a crucial moment to dismiss George Munsey, helping to regain control. Despite some bowlers being a bit expensive, they stuck to their plans and executed them effectively. The standout performer was Mohammad Wasim, who delivered an impactful spell of 3/25 in his four overs, making a significant difference.
Earlier in the game, the Chittagong Kings put up a daunting total after being sent in to bat. Usman Khan set the tone with a fine half-century, followed by Graham Clark, who stole the show with a blistering 60 off just 33 balls. Mohammad Mithun contributed with a quick cameo, and Haider Ali provided the perfect finishing touch with a stunning 42 off just 18 deliveries. The Sylhet Strikers’ bowlers had a tough outing, proving expensive overall, though Tanzim Hasan Sakib managed to claim a couple of wickets, while Nahidul Islam, Ruyel Miah, and Ariful Haque picked up one apiece.
After a slow start with a strike rate below 100, something finally clicked for George Munsey, and he found his rhythm. He went on an attacking spree, smashing the ball to all parts of the ground and racing to a well-deserved fifty, only to be dismissed on the very next delivery. That wicket shifted the momentum once again. Despite Jaker Ali's valiant effort, blasting 47 off just 23 balls, the Strikers ultimately fell short by 30 runs.
Sylhet Strikers couldn't get the explosive start they were hoping for in this big chase. Paul Stirling departed for a golden duck, and last game's heroes, Rony Talukdar and Zakir Hasan couldn’t contribute much either. Zakir showed glimpses of promise but couldn’t convert it into a significant innings. Aaron Jones and George Munsey tried to stabilize the innings, but their inability to find the boundary kept the scoring rate below a run-a-ball, with the required rate steadily climbing. Jones’ departure left the team struggling at 64/4.
CHITTAGONG KINGS MAKE IT THREE IN A ROW! The Kings' bowlers held their nerve despite a slight scare, ensuring a solid win in the end. A tough outing for the Sylhet Strikers as they wrap up their home leg with another disappointing loss.
