Right then, that is it from this entertaining game where Durbar Rajshahi climbs up to the fourth spot giving a wake-up call to Rangpur Riders. Don't go anywhere, as we have a big clash between Khulna Tigers and Sylhet Strikers lined up that will start in a short while. You can just switch tabs to enjoy our build-up of that match. Cheers!
Taskin Ahmed, the victorious skipper of Durbar Rajshahi says that everyone knew that it was a must-win game and he is happy with the performance. Adds that it was a phenomenal knock from Yasir Ali, Sabbir Hossain batted well at the start and then Ali finished it off. Says that he thought they were 15-20 runs short but the bowlers did a brilliant job. Praises Ryan Burl for his incredible bowling effort and says that everyone chipped in well in this game. Ends by saying that he has been playing for a long time and likes to perform under pressure, and with all the international matches coming up, he needs to be at his best.
Ryan Burl is PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his impressive 4/22 and a fantastic catch. He says that it was disheartening when he got out for a duck in the first inning but it is a beauty of being an all-rounder that you get a second chance to come back in the match. Adds that he is happy with his bowling and that stunning catch of Maehdi Hasan. Mentions that it is the nature of the T20 game where the bowlers come out on top at one time and sometimes the batter dismantles him.
Nurul Hasan, the captain of Rangpur Riders says that the boys know their mistakes and it is an alarming sign for them and time to wake up. Adds that the momentum needs to be carried on throughout the tournament. Mentions that in the first six overs, the bowlers didn't bowl well but then after they picked up rhythm. Adds that the batters didn't get enough runs on the board as well. Further mentions that the boys know very well, what to do further on from here but those back-to-back wickets hampered us a lot in the middle, he concluded!
Presentation Time...
Durbar Rajshahi will be thrilled with their sensational bowling display! Skipper Taskin Ahmed set the tone with a wicket in the very first over, and SM Meherob followed it up with a brilliant double-wicket maiden to pile on the pressure. Shafiul Islam struck with a sharp short ball to remove the well-set Saif Hassan, but it was Ryan Burl who stole the show. After a golden duck with the bat, Burl dominated the middle overs, taking a stunning return catch and bagging the crucial wicket of Nurul Hasan. He finished with career-best figures of 4-0-22-4 in T20s, while Sabbir Hossain chipped in with one. Fittingly, Taskin sealed the deal, wrapping up a memorable win for Rajshahi!
Earlier in the game, Durbar Rajshahi looked set for a massive total, with a fiery 76-run stand between Yasir Ali and Anamul Haque putting them in command. Yasir's explosive hitting and Anamul's steady presence had 200 well within reach, but the tide turned dramatically. Ali's dismissal on 60 and a crucial run-out of Haque triggered a collapse, as DR tumbled from 152/3 to 170/9, losing wickets like a pack of cards. Khushdil Shah and Akbar Ali were sensational for Rangpur Riders, claiming three wickets each, while Nahid Rana and Rakibul Hasan chipped in with one apiece. Rangpur's fielding, however, left much to be desired - they could have kept DR under 150 with a sharper effort which came back to haunt them in this game.
The league leaders crumbled early, losing three wickets inside the Powerplay with barely anything on the board. Saif Hassan and Khushdil Shah tried to steady the ship, but Khushdil's stay was short-lived. Skipper Nurul Hasan joined Saif, and the pair sparked hope with a promising stand, only for Saif to fall agonizingly on 43 just as he was breaking free. Nurul fought valiantly, smashing 41 off 26, but the pressure of a climbing required rate got to him as well. Despite a few powerful hits from Mohammad Saifuddin at the end, it wasn’t enough, and the Riders fell short by 24 runs, ending their winning streak in a heartbreaking fashion.
THE STREAK IS OVER! After eight consecutive victories, Rangpur Riders have faced their first defeat in the Bangladesh Premier League 2024/25. Durbar Rajshahi delivered a stunning performance, becoming the first team to topple the table-toppers - and they did it in style!

OUT! KNOCKED OVER! Durbar Rajshahi have won this game by 24 runs! Taskin Ahmed has finished it for his team as he has picked up his second wicket of the match. He runs in hard and bowls a fiery yorker at the toes at an extreme pace. Nahid Rana doesn't have an answer to this and can't be able to bring his bat down to dig it out. The ball goes past his outside edge and rattles the stumps. He is pumped up with this win and so are his teammates. They have defeated the best team of the tournament and have gone to the fourth spot in the points table.

Floated up, around off, Nahid Rana tries to play it over cover and gets an inside edge onto the pads.
Nahid Rana is the last man in.
OUT! CAUGHT! Ryan Burl has his man and he gets his fourth wicket in this match! Mohammad Saifuddin departs after making 23 runs! Nagging length, around middle and leg, from over the wicket, sliding in, Mohammad Saifuddin goes back in the crease and pulls it towards deep mid-wicket. It hasn't come off the middle of the bat and the ball goes in the air, doesn't cover the desired distance. Anamul Haque settles underneath and takes it both hands comfortably to his left. He is pumped up with this wicket.
