Sharjah Warriorz beat Dubai Capitals by 9 wickets

That's all from this contest! Join us next time for the International League T20, 2025, as Desert Vipers take on Gulf Giants on January 29, 2025, at 2:30 PM GMT. We'll be back with the pre-match buildup an hour early, so don't miss it! Until next time, cheers!
Adam Zampa is the player of the match. He is up for a chat and says the Capitals were off to a flier but once he was called into the attack and saw a bit of grip and bounce, he knew that he'd enjoy bowling on this track. Mentions that the wicket was asking for the spinners to give it a bit of flight and he did that and that helped him. Closes by saying that Ashton Agar and he have played a lot of cricket together and that helped them bowl in partnership.
Tim Southee, the skipper of Sharjah Warriorz is up for a chat and he says that the spinners were outstanding and they halted the momentum of the Capitals batters. Mentions that both his openers were brilliant and they did the job proffesionally. Acknowledges the fact that they dropped a few catches and needs to work in that department but they won at the end and that's what matters.
Sikandar Raza, the skipper of Dubai Capitals is up for a chat and he says the phase of those 10 odd overs without a boundary went against them. Credits the spin trio of Sharjah Warriorz as they kept things tight and made it difficult for his batting unit to score off them. Raza acknowledges the fact that it was Johnson Charles' day and whatever he did and whichever stroke he played came off right from the middle of his bat and landed in the gap for him. Closes by saying just one bad game wouldn't undo the good work they have done previously and he also advice his players to forget about this game in at max 30-40 minutes and not let this game ruin those 3 good games they played prior to it.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Earlier, batting first, Dubai Capitals were restricted to a mere 131, thanks to a determined bowling effort from Sharjah Warriorz. Shai Hope was the only batter who showed some resistance, but even his strike rate was less than 100, which is unacceptable in the T20 format. The Warriorz' bowlers shared the spoils, with Adam Zampa and Rohan Mustafa taking two wickets each, and Ashton Agar, Adam Milne, and Tim Southee chipping in with one each.
The Dubai Capitals bowlers were unable to create any pressure, as the Warriorz' openers took them to the cleaners. Only Sikandar Raza managed to pick up a solitary wicket, but by then, the game was all but over.
Chasing a modest total, the Warriorz' openers, Johnson Charles and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, were absolutely unstoppable. They added a massive 123 runs for the first wicket, making the chase look like a cakewalk. Charles was the aggressor, scoring 71 off just 33 balls, while TKC played a solid supporting role, scoring a half-century which was at a healthy strike rate too.
A dominant display by Sharjah Warriorz as they win this by 9 wickets and more than 8 overs to spare.
