So, that's it from this game! Another game to go which is going to be played on Saturday! Chance for England to inflict a whitewash and for Sri Lanka to avoid it. Do join us for all the action. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Liam Livingstone, Man of the match. Says it was not his preferred position early on, but the partnership helped a lot. Adds that he likes to come in down the order and put himself in his team's shoes and play according to the situation. Ends by saying that he enjoys to play the game without pressure and would love to continue the same way.
Eoin Morgon, England skipper, says it was a good challenge, the wicket was a bit difficult to bat on but in the end he is pleased they came up on top. Adds the initial hiccups were not what we expected but the boys did well to recover and see off the game. States it is amzing to see Wood play. Ends by saying his consistency and hard work helps them a lot.
Sri Lanka skipper, Kusal Perera, says that being in the losing side is not ideal but he is happy with the fight his bowlers showed. Adds batting was once again the problem. Mentions that they should have got to 140-150 to give their bowlers a chance to win the game. Ends by saying that the intent is to play positive but admits the execution was not there and they need to get it right
The Lankans were really impressive with the ball. Their bowlers kept them in the game till the rain arrived. After the break the ball seemed to be coming on a lot easier and they also did not have enough on the board. It was a whole-hearted effort with the ball by them but the batters once again disappointed and the first innings is probably where they lost the game.
The English side though did not start all that well, they had lost 3 in the Powerplay and then Roy too followed shortly after it. They were in trouble at 36 for 4 but Livingstone and Billings showed maturity, batted sensibly, they took England close to the target before Billings was dismissed. Curran though added the finishing touches with a few cracking shots.
An easy win for England in the end and they have sealed the series! The initial target was 112 in 20 overs but after the rain break, 103 was the revised target which was chased down easily in the end.
