England Women beat Thailand Women by 98 runs

So that is it from this game! Cricketing action from the World Cup does not end though as there is another game lined-up. The Windies will be taking on Pakistan and that will begin shortly. Till then, take care and goodbye!
England skipper, Heather Knight, says the partnership between Sciver and her was the key and it was nice to put up a decent score on the board. States the fielding and the bowling was also decent today and it was a clinical performance. Ends by saying every game is a must-win game and they are looking forward to it.
Thailand skipper, Sornnarin Tippoch says it was a challenging game, they tried to do their best on the field. States they are trying to improve and they will work hard on their power hitting.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH, Heather Knight, says she feels great and it was important to play well here. Mentions she had fun out there and it went well. Also adds the key was to stay calm, keep it simple and put away the balls which were there to be hit. Ends by saying the wicket was a slightly two paced but still a good wicket.
England on the other hand were decent with their bowling. Shrubsole was the pick, Sciver and Ecclestone also did a decent job. Overall a good game for them to bag their first points of this World Cup.
A convincing win for England! To be honest, after their batting effort led by their skipper who scored a massive ton and her 169-run stand with Sciver, it was always going to be a huge task for Thailand and they have fell well short. Chantam though was the best batter for them. However, no other batter managed to show some fight.

BEATEN! Length ball outside off, Chantam goes for the drive but can only connect with thin air
We are back for the chase. The England players are out onto the field and they are followed by the two Thailand openers Nattakan Chantam and Nattaya Boochatham. Anya Shrubsole to start with the ball.
The target is a huge one! Thailand will have to put in their best performance with the bat if they are to chase this down. England though will be confident of defending this. Anything other than an England win will surely be a shock. Join us for the second essay in a while.
The Thailand bowling was brilliant to start with but then faded as the game progressed. They were very wayward and bowled too many freebies. Also, the fielding did not help as there were a few dropped catches and also a few misfields. Overall it was a performance their bowlers would like to forget.
The England innings though did not get off to the best of starts as they were two down for not a lot. However, Sciver and Knight got themselves in and steadied the ship. Both got to their half tons and then stepped on the accelerator. The skipper especially, found the boundaries at will and brought up her ton. The two added 169 to take England in a position they will be pretty pleased with.
An excellent batting performance from England comes to an end! Led from the front by Knight and Sciver has played an excellent supporting role. They have surely managed to get a score which is a little too much for Thailand.

NOT OUT! The dive saves Sciver there. Brilliant effort in the field. Tossed up ball outside off, Knight drives it to covers and calls for a single but Tippoch gets to the ball and throws it towards the bowler's end. The bowler there takes the bails off and appeals. The umpire takes it upstairs and the replays roll in. It shows that Sciver just dived in time and dragged her bat inside the crease before the bails went up.
An appeal for a run out has been taken upstairs! The Thailand players do not seem that excited.

OUT! CAUGHT! A dream start for Thailand as they have managed to send both the openers back into the hut within the first two overs. Wyatt makes room for this tossed up ball from Lateh to go inside out but ends up slicing it towards covers. Hello and welcome to the coverage of another game of the womens T20I World Cup. It is a clash between two sides which are yet to bat a win, England and Thailand. The English side though are expected to bag their first points today. It should probably be an easy victory for them. Thailand on the other hand, will hope to be competitive. A win for them will be huge, huge upset. Seeing the quality though both teams possess, an upset does not seem on the cards. Stay tuned for the toss and teams in a while...
