Match Abandoned

There is not much else for us to add as not a lot of cricket was played. There is another match in the CPL, as Amazon Guyana Warriors face off against the Barbados Tridents at 1730 local (2130 GMT), but with the amount of rain that has poured down onto the outfield, chances of play does look bleak but we are hopeful. Join us for that game. Until then, cheers.
Earlier in the day, The Tallawahs won the toss and decided to field first. Chris Lynn and Evin Lewis took control of the first six overs and played some good strokes on the way to the 46 runs scored by the Patriots before the rain poured down and spoilt any chances of play for the day. Two points would not have helped them into the play-offs but a win would have been a good morale booster nonetheless.
MATCH ABANDONED DUE TO RAIN! And this is a very frustating end to this match. The CPL 2020 has been lucky enough to not really have the weather upset the rhythm but the outfield today was like a pool of sorts right throughtout the rain period. The Patriots will be more disappointed as now they are out of the tournament and have nothing to play for apart from pride. Both the teams will be awarded one point nonetheless.
Update 1300 local (1700 GMT) - The rain continues to fall and this game gets closer and closer to getting abandoned. The ground has taken a lot of water and it might affect the second game as well. No official word though. Stay tuned.
Update 1230 local (1630 GMT) - Nothing new to update as it is still pouring down and the ground has taken a severe beating. The chances of this game happening diminish every passing minute. Stay tuned.
Update 1200 local (1600 GMT) - Still raining, I am afraid and it looks unlikely that the game will resume. Stay hopeful though. Stay with us for further updates.
Update 1130 local (1530 GMT) - It is not looking good at the moment. It is still raining and large puddles have been formed in the ground. The drainage here is good but it will be tested today. But for that to happen, the rain has to stop. Stay tuned.
Ohh no! It had gone a bit dark and it has started to rain heavily in Tarouba. The covers have been brought on and the players are going off. Let's hope that it is a short delay and we get back on the field as soon as possible. Stay with us.
Update 1045 local (1445 GMT) - Nothing new to update as it is still raining in Tarouba and it seems like we are in for a long delay. Let's hope for the rain to stop and we get some action. Stay with us.
Update 1100 local (1500 GMT) - Well, the rain has gotten heavier and any chances of play resuming soon looks bleak. All we can do is hope. Stay tuned.
