Mashrafe Mortaza, the skipper of Sylhet Strikers, says that it's a good win and finishing in the top-two is really good. Adds that it's going to be difficult for them with Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim leaving and they will have to find apt replacements for them. Mortaza is very happy with the way Mushfiqur Rahim has been performing. On Zakir Hasan, Mortaza replies that he batted so well and calls him a special talent.
Imad Wasim (4-0-10-2) is chosen for the Player of the Match award. Says that he is happy with the win and shares that he tries to stick to the basics. Adds that he is doing it for a decade now and he loves bowling in the Powerplay. He thanks the crowd and hopes that Sylhet Strikers will win the tournament.
Shai Hope, the captain of Khulna Tigers, says that they let themselves down with the bat. Praises the bowling effort. Adds that it was a good pitch and they didn't execute their plans. Tells that the ball swung a lot today and credits his team for fighting back but they didn't have enough on the board. He hopes for a win in the next game.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Earlier, Khulna Tigers lacked the intent with the bat after losing early wickets in the Powerplay. They never recovered and went through their innings without much impetus. The likes of Mohammad Saifuddin and Nahidul Islam fared decently with the ball but they were always behind the 8-ball during the run-chase. Zakir Hasan again showed his credentials with the bat and along with the experienced head of Mushfiqur Rahim, he formed a 90-run alliance. Towards the end, a couple of wickets fell in quick succession but Ryan Burl made sure that Sylhet Strikers crossed the line with minimum fuss.
A clinical win for Sylhet Strikers! They bowled with a lot of planning and discipline and they batted with a lot of authority - completely outplayed Khulna Tigers. The Tigers tried their best with the ball, and created early inroads but the partnership between Zakir Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim rudely closed the door of their hopes of a comeback.
