So, after the high at Eden Park, Pakistan fell from Mount Maunganui. They have nothing but to play for pride now. A tough couple of months going on for Pakistan but with one game to go, they'll hope to end the series on a high. Join us on the 26th as the final match will begin at 6.15 am GMT. You can join us early for the build up as well. Cheers!
The captain of New Zealand, Michael Bracewell says he is happy with the performance. Tells it was good to bounce back from the last game. Mentions the openers set the tone, they were under pressure in the middle phase but they ended well with the bat. Shares Shaheen Afridi bowled a really good over at the top. Feels like when the ball hits the hoardings, it ruffs up quickly. Tells it's nice to finish well with the bat. Ends by saying all the seamers bowled well.
Salman Agha, the skipper of Pakistan says New Zealand bowled really well and overall outplayed them. Shares that the ball was swinging and turning in the second innings but says they are international players and need to adapt quickly. Reckons they need to regroup and try and come good in the next game.
Finn Allen is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says he is happy to win the award but feels some other players deserve this award too Tells the seamers got good bounce off the surface and they cashed in well. Mentions it is tough to get the rhythm right from the start but it helps when your partner score runs.
...Presentation...
Talking about Pakistan - there's nothing much positive to extract out of this game apart from that small little innings from Samad! However, apart from that there is nothing much to talk about them. They won the toss but got punished by the Kiwi openers who got them off to a blistering start. There was a small mental win for Pakistan in the middle phase but it was outdone by Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell who did well to finish on a high. Overall, a complete package performance from New Zealand. It was a good toss to lose for Michael Bracewell, after what we saw in the second innings. It was almost unplayable on most occasions and Pakistan succumbed under pressure.
At the halfway mark, we did say that New Zealand needed to set the tone with the new ball to win this match. Well, with a lot of breeze flowing across and a bit of help from the pitch, the pace trio of - Jacob Duffy, Zakary Foulkes and Will O'Rourke run riot against an inexperienced Pakistani batting line up. They were unable to handle the pressure and fell one after the other. After one stage, it was just a procession. More than if, it was when will they get rattled over! A comfortable win for New Zealand and they have taken an unassailable lead of 3-1.
Done and dusted! New Zealand seal the five-match T20I series by going 3-1 up! New Zealand were far too good today! In all three departments, they had the upper hand over the opposition. For Pakistan, they just didn't arrive for the must-win game.
