Right then, that brings to an end an entertaining game. Moving onto Thursday, 21st January 2021, Carey's Adelaide Strikers take on Lynn's Brisbane Heat. That game will be happening in Adelaide and begins at 1845 Local (0815 GMT). Do tune-in for the same and until then, take care and stay safe.
Mackenzie Harvey is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. Says that he cannot put his feeling in words. Reckons that Nathan Coulter-Nile and Liam bowled well. Adds that it was about staying strong even though they were not in a strong position earlier. On how his shoulder is (as he put in a full-length dive towards the end and got hit from a Glenn Maxwell throw), Mackenzie says it is all fine and he is good.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Melbourne Stars had opted to bat first. They lost Andre early but Marcus Stoinis and Larkin's innings helped them reach to a respectable total of 158. Something for their bowlers to bowl well, you would reckon. But, they fumbled in the end and that cost them the match. They take home the Bash Boost but would rue on missing out the three points that were theirs for the taking.
The Big Show would be a disappointed man with the way his side threw away the match in the end. NCN was excellent in his first three overs but went for 19 in his last and that proved to be a decisive over for the Renegades. Barring him and Hatcher everybody else were not so expensive. In the end, Coulter-Nile's 3 wickets did not matter as him and Hatcher going for plenty in the last stages swung the game in Melbourne Renegades' favour.
Chasing 159 for victory, the Renegades did not get off to a good start as they lost both Shaun and Aaron early. Fraser-McGurk was dismissed for a near run-a-ball 20 later on. After that, there was a decent partnership between Sam and Prestwidge but when the former fell, it looked like all was over for Finch's men. But later, Mackenzie Harvey and Beau Webster got into the act and stitched not just an important partnership but took the Men in Red home, with 2 balls to spare.
What a superb performance from the youngsters, Beau Webster and Mackenzie Harvey, to see their side home. Not long ago, did we see the young guns of India clinch a superb win on Australian soil, in the Test series. Now, the Renegades would be happy with this result. Individually, one can say that the future looks bright for Webster and Harvey, given how they played today.

FOUR! Just magnificent. Full and on the middle pole, BW closes the face of his bat and flicks it uppishly and over the mid-wicket region for a boundary. THE RENEGADES WIN BY 5 WICKETS THEN!

Full and outside off, Harvey drives it down to mid off. Wants a quick single. Glenn picks it up at mid off and releases a throw to the bowler's end. Harvey gets in with a dive. Geez.. that is an awful dive. The umpire and Maxwell rush in to check with Harvey. Mackenzie says he is fine though.

Full length ball around the off pole, Beau Webster flicks it down to long on for one. 4 runs required in 4 balls now.

Full and around off, Mackenzie looked to drive this firmly through the covers. Ends up getting it off the inner half, down to the fine leg region. Picks up a single. 5 from 5 now.
Liam Hatcher to bowl the last over. Can he keep the young guns out? Can he keep it out to 5 runs, for a Super Over? Let's see...

SIX! WHAT ABOUT THAT OVER! 19 OFF IT! THEY NEED JUST 6 FROM THE LAST OVER! Fullish length delivery around the off pole, Webster sends that over the deep mid-wicket ropes.

FOUR! Brilliant. Goes for a low full toss, well outside off, Webster reaches out to it and carves it over point. Probably the one batter to whom you do not want to bowl a low full toss outside off.

Full length ball around off, Harvey looked to slog this over the covers. But he ends up getting an inside edge onto his pads. They sneak in a quick single here.

Short and around off, Beau goes back and flicks it through mid-wicket for a single.

Drives this through the covers but finds sweeper cover. So, just the single.

SIX! Oh my goodness! A full toss, on middle, Mackenzie Harvey picks it up and sends it miles over deep square leg for half a dozen.
