Pakistan skipper, Bismah Maroof says she is very happy and they wanted to win this game to get the momentum going. States they managed to pick wickets at regular intervals and the new ball bowlers bowled well up front and they managed to keep them down to a low score which the batters did well to chase. She feels they are smart cricketers and they need to stick to their strengths. Ends by saying it is a very important victory and she hopes they can do well going ahead.
West Indies skipper, Stafanie Taylor says they did not have enough runs on the board. Mentions they under-performed with the bat and they should have got above 150. States the batters need to take the responsibility and pace their innings well and also rotate their strike nicely. Admits that is where they are lacking. Further adds the bowling has been terrific in the last couple of months especially the pacers. Ends by saying the Pakistan team though was exceptional but they will try and improve and come stronger in the next game.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH, Javeria Khan, humbly says that Diana deserves it more than she does but she is happy she got it and is pleased with how she and her team performed. States they are working hard and it paid off here. Mentions the wicket played well under lights and it was easier to bat. Informs that she was looking to take the attack to the bowlers and make it easier for the batters coming in.
The Windies bowling was poor to begin with! They leaked far too many runs which made the job for the Pakistan batters easy during the middle overs where there were a few good overs bowled. However, they needed wickets at regular intervals which they failed to take. Overall, it was a very under par performance by the Windies.
An excellent chase from Pakistan has seen them win their first game of this year's World Cup. To be honest, it is their bowlers who have to be credited for this win as they did really well to restrict West Indies to a small but a competitive total. However, Pakistan openers got them off to a very good start as they added 58. They though lost both the openers in quick succession. S kipper, Maroof and Nida, though accounted for a match-winning stand which took them over the line.

Diana Baig is up for an interview. She says that she was happy with her first three overs but is disappointed with her last one. Mentions that she was a bit nervous there but when she got the first wicket she felt better. Further says that she just focuses on bowling in the right areas. On her teams performance today she mentions that it was a team effort but they need to work on their fielding. On being asked about the target they will be chasing tonight she says that 124 is chaseable and she hopes that they cross the line.
Diana was brilliant to begin with for Pakistan! The spinners did a good job in the middle overs, both Nida and Amin picked up two each. However, they took some pounding towards the end which they won't be happy about.
A good finish for the Windies has seen them end with a competitive score! They got off to the worst of starts though as they were three down with not a lot of runs on the board. However, the stand between Campbelle and Taylor steadied the ship. The former stepped on the accelerator but perished just as she started to get going. Taylor though hung in there but she too fell 7 short of a half ton. The Windies still managed to get around 44 in the last 5 overs which could prove to be the difference.

Pakistan skipper, Bismah Mahroof says she would have batted first too but now they will have to restrict them to a low total. States the last tour against the Windies gave them a lot of confidence and she hopes they can do well. Informs bowling is their strength and they would want to keep them to a low score.
West Indies skipper, Stafanie Taylor says they decided as a unit and made this decision. She hopes to put runs on the board now. Informs the dot ball percentage was high in the last game and rotation of strike will be important.

It is now time for the second game of today of the Women's World Cup. Pakistan will be taking on West Indies. This is Pakistan's first game and they will be eager to begin on a winning note.
