Right then. That is all the action that we have from this game. The action in the PSL continues as on Friday, 18th June 2021, we will see the battle between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. That game will start at 2000 local (1600 GMT). We hope to have your company for that game. Until then, take care and goodbye!
Imad Wasim, the captain of Karachi Kings, says that the credit really goes to the groundsman who takes care of the wicket, but also the bowlers, who did really well. Adds that they also have one more game to go and if they peak at the right time then they can make their way into the playoff.
NOOR AHMAD IS THE MAN OF THE MATCH. He says that he is very happy and that they tried hard to win the game and they gave their hundred percent.
Sohail Akhtar, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, says that they were good with the bat, but were not able to continue it in the middle. Adds that they struggled against the spinners, and hopes to come back stronger in the next game. Adds that the bowlers are doing really well, and they would want to focus on their batting in the next game.
In the first innings, the Qalandars were good with the ball, but Babar Azam and some final blows by Imad Wasim ensured that the Kings finished on top, with a good total, and they finished the job with the ball, in the second innings and won the game.
Not a great start for Karachi, as they were hoping it would be, but then the bowlers grew into the game as they passed on the pressure to the opposition, and it was Ilyas who found the first breakthrough, to dismiss Akhtar with a peach of a delivery. Then Imad Wasim worked his spin and sent the set batsman Zaman back. The spinners worked their magic for Karachi, in the middle overs, as Noor got into the action and took two crucial wickets in his spell. Abbas Afridi was very expensive during the end but got an important wicket of Tim David. Ilyas, in the final over, delivered under pressure as he took out Faulkner who was leading his team towards the victory.
The opening pair came with an aggressive intent into the crease. The pair of Zaman and Akhtar dominated with the bat in the initial three overs but they were put on the back foot by some consistent bowling by the opposition and Sohail Akhtar lost his wicket in the process. Zaman and Hafeez looked solid in the middle, but the former gave away his wicket early. Agha Salman lost his wicket as he ventured out of his crease looking for a run. Dunk lasted for a very short span in the middle, as well as Hafeez. Only for David and Faulkner to haunt the Karachi camp, as they motored their innings towards the end, but David lost his wicket as he was looking to put all the balls out of the park and in the end, they missed out by 7 runs.
This match was filled with all the action as both teams fought till the end but it was Karachi Kings who came out on the top, courtesy of their spinners and they keep their hopes of making the playoffs alive.

OUT! In the air and it is taken! James Faulkner is dismissed and so are the hopes of Lahore Qalandars! A lot of burden rests on the shoulders of Rashid Khan now. Low full toss, outside off, Faulkner slashes it hard but doesn't get much distance on it as he hits it towards long on, straight into the hands of Martin Guptill.
