Right then, that is it from this one-sided final and the ICC Women's U-19 T20 World Cup as well. Defending champions, India Women Under-19 have retained the trophy with a top-class show throughout the tournament. Now, the shining World Cup trophy is being handed over by the Chairman of ICC, Jay Shah to the victorious Indian skipper, Niki Prasad. She joins her teammates and lifts it together and also poses for some pictures with the 'CHAMPIONS' banner. Then they do a victory lap around the ground with a lot of Indian support here. We hope that you enjoyed our coverage of this brilliant tournament, but the cricket action does not stop here. Plenty of matches are going on all around the world and you can just switch tabs to enjoy them. Until next time, cheers and goodbye!
Niki Prasad, the victorious skipper of India Women Under-19 says that they just kept their calm and wanted to keep things simple and did their job. Adds that if she had won the toss, she would have batted first as well, but they have bowled brilliantly throughout the tournament so no regrets about that. Mentions that all the credit goes to the support staff for nurturing the youngsters. Says that she was disappointed she missed out on the previous World Cup, but worked hard and has made sure that India stays on top. Further adds that she wanted to dominate and is very proud of her team for the way they have played. Credits South Africa Women Under-19 for their performance as well and says that they have been playing against each other for a long time and it was nice to compete with them.
Now, the South Africa Women Under-19 team comes up to the podium to collect their runners-up medals. We will also hear from their captain Kayla Reyneke. She says that there are a lot of emotions going on in the group. Adds that they all including the management, have worked really hard and thanks all of them for being a part of this journey and especially mentions her team who played like a group. She gets a bit emotional and says that it has been a proud moment to get into the final and that cricket is a team sport. Further says that, though they have fallen short here, they have played well and with the South African spirit in them, will come back stronger in the next World Cup 2027. Concludes by appreciating the way India played and congratulating them while apologising to their fans for not getting the trophy home but mentions that they will continue to entertain you further in the future.
Trisha Gongadi is also the PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT, scoring 309 runs and 7 wickets. She says she wants to dedicate these awards to her father and says without his support she wouldn't have made it here. Thanks the batting coach for backing her to open the innings and says she looks forward to playing for her country and winning more games.
Trisha Gongadi is the PLAYER OF THE FINAL for her all-round brilliance (3 wickets and 44 runs). She says she is short of words and this means everything for her. Thanks her team and the support staff and says that she tries to bowl to her strength and with the bat only looks to keep it the same as the other matches. Mentions that Mithali Raj is her idol and says the youngsters coming ahead will have to work hard and make sure the World Cup stays in India.
Presentation Time...
The three left-arm spinners of the Indian team, Parunika Sisodia, Vaishnavi Sharma and, Aayushi Shukla, are all together for a chat. Vaishnavi is overwhelmed and Aayushi takes over to say that it is hard to express in words and the hard work they put in has shown through. Parunika then adds that the three never talk about the game and they enjoy each other's company and help one another in the game and are more like a family. Further adds that as a whole team, they just want to keep pushing ahead and never look back. Sonam Yadav joins the pack and says it feels great to win the title and be part of it on both occasions. Soon Kamalini G charges in to show her excitement and emotions and says they did it.
We can see the India Women Under-19 celebrating wildly here in Kuala Lumpur and it is time to hear from some of their players. Sanika Chalke is up for a quick chat. She says that this is a surreal feeling for her as she has dreamt of this day for the past two years. She is very happy that she hit the winning runs. She thanks the supporting staff as they have believed in her. Mentions that they didn’t get a lot of chances to bat in the middle order and she knew that she was due for an inning but she contributed in the fielding as those catches were very crucial. It is a big step in her career and she hopes that it will help her going forward.
A small target, no trouble at all for the Women in Blue! Trisha Gongadi, the tournament’s standout star, owned the final - three wickets with the ball and an unbeaten 44 to seal the win in style. Kamalini G fell early, but Sanika Chalke ensured a smooth finish, smashing the winning runs with over eight overs to spare. Not much really to say about the bowling of South Africa Women Under-19 as they just did not have enough runs on the board. Skipper Kayla Reyneke picked up the only wicket, but that was only a consolation. However, they can still take a lot of positives from this World Cup campaign.
Earlier in the game, South Africa Women Under-19 crumbled under the pressure of the final, skittled out for just 82! With seven single-digit scores, only Jemma Botha and Mieke van Voorst showed some fight, but India’s relentless bowling attack proved too strong. Trisha Gongadi led the charge with three wickets, while Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma grabbed two each, and Shabnam chipped in with one. A dominant display from the champions, stamping their authority once again!
INDIA WOMEN UNDER-19 – WORLD CHAMPIONS ONCE AGAIN! They’ve defended their title in style, staying unbeaten and proving their dominance yet again! Heartbreak for South Africa in another ICC final, but full credit to the young Proteas for a spirited campaign. India reigns supreme, and the future shines bright!

FOUR! Good shot to end what has been an exceptional tournament for India Women Under-19! They defend the title and seal the game with 9 wickets. On a length, angling in on middle and leg, Sanika Chalke pulls it off the upper half of the bat but manages to get it past square leg to her left and the ball races to the fence.
